Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, DG KHAN (Dera Ghazi Khan) was constituted under the West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (DG KHAN) Ordinance, 1989 (now repealed) out of Multan Board. It is now being governed under the Punjab. Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976. BISE DG Khan was initiated in January 1989.
It was also a part of Multan but now it works as an independent and autonomous body. BISE DG Khan was established on 4th Jan 1989. Camp Office of DG Khan board started working in the Multan Board then, it was shifted to DG Khan headquarter. There are 15 members on the Board of Governors including the Chairman.
Few members are ex-officials and others are nominated as per provisions of the Act. As the organization is autonomous so it won’t get any aid from the government or any other sort of help in building, providing, carrying out and otherwise. All the monetary aid is generated by the practice of examination and other fees.
BISE DG KHAN has been providing quality education for the districts under its wings for the last 4 decades. The districts in BISE DG Khan are Muzaffargarh, Layyah, and Rajanpur. Like BISE Gujranwala this Board also deals with rural areas and students in a fairly large amount are appearing through this board every year.
BISE DG Khan conducts examination for the classes 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, ICOM, ICS, FSC, and FA. No doubt quality education is provided by the board throughout its jurisdictions. This is sole purpose the educational sector is improving day by day in Pakistan.
BISE DG functions as an important organ in the educational sector of Pakistan it has the duties of conducting examinations of above mentioned classes, lay down conditions for appointment to various examination held by the Board, it is also eligible to appoint or refuse recognizing Educational Institutes under its wing and also fixing, receiving and demanding fee.

The result for exams are announced on the website, students can easily visit the website to get their result. Institutes also give detailed mark sheets to respective students. The head office is situated in Dera Ghazi Khan near Pakistan Chowk. It can also be visited to get information about any queries.
As per custom BISE DG Khan is also involved in sports competitions and other social events. Students participate in these events with full of heart. Students having best of the results are appreciated and given rewards by the Board. An award ceremony is held every year for prize distribution and motivational talks with the students. BISE DG Khan has been improving swiftly recently and showing relatively better result.
