Board of intermediate and Secondary Education, Faisalabad was established on 1988. It is now being governed under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976. BISE Faisalabad was linked or more accurately under the wing of Lahore Board but after the tremendous increase in candidates Faisalabad Board was founded in order to decrease the pressure on a single body.
Afterwards BISE Faisalabad now acts as an independent Board holding and conducting examinations. This organ is autonomous and all funds that are generated are by itself. The Board is an autonomous institution with powers to make rules. It does not receive any grant-in-aid or any donation from the Govt. or other semi Govt. agency. It has to generate its own funds through the levy of examinations and other fees.
BISE Faisalabad has four districts under its radar. The Board has full control on these districts under educational sector. The districts are Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad. Fundamentally BISE Multan is responsible to hold and conduct examinations of classes 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, ICOM, ICS, FSC, FA and Classical Languages.
Other subjects and classes can have examinations if referred by the Controlling Authority of Punjab. Other than that Board follows usual curriculum.
BISE Multan has the appointment of The Chairperson, Secretary Controller of Examinations, Audit Officer and DPE are appointed by the Controlling Authority/Govt. on deputation normally for a period of 3 years. Other officers and staff in BS-16 and above are appointed by the Governors, in BS-5 to BS-15 by the Chairperson and in BS-1 to BS-4 by the Secretary. These appointments are held and withstood for the given time period.
Results for examinations are announced on the official website of BISE Multan i.e. http://www.bisefsd.edu.pk/. Date sheet and roll no slips are issued by the Board and then given to students by their respective institutes. It is also the responsibility for BISE Multan to recognize or dis approve an educational institute in the area under their radar.
BISE Multan is also eligible to grant certificates and diplomas to students who are successful in complete any of the courses. As other boards BISE Multan also gives courses after matriculation level for students according to their own preferences. Other than that BISE Multan is also a participant in All Pakistan Sports Council that is an honorable thing.
They compete in various sports events. Extracurricular activities are another responsibility for BISE Multan to make students divert their mind and do creative stuff. Scholarships and other rewards are given to students who had achieved high marks in examinations. This a gesture to show that hard work pays off.
BISE Multan create posts and appoint such staff as may be considered necessary for the purpose of its functions; provided that a post in Bs-17 or above, shall be created with a prior approval of the Controlling Authority. Board will also make provision for building’s premises, furniture, apparatus, books and other means required for carrying out the purposes of the Act.
