The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education was established under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education Act 1976 and its jurisdiction was notified on 14th October, 1982 whereas it started its functions by conducting its first secondary school (Supplementary) in 1983.
BISE Gujranwala was made independently in 1983 to manage the lower regions of Punjab. Now it has leading up to its name. tis region is also crowded with majority of rural areas and these areas are not much developed but still BISE Gujranwala has been showing great progress in its areas. It is quite easy to see their efforts and hard work in making the future of Pakistan perform at their best.

BISE Gujranwala is responsible of conducting and hosting examinations of classes 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, ICOM, ICS, and FSC. Other classical languages may or may not be involved in the curriculum depending upon the Controlling Government. Results of examinations are announced after two to three months. These are displayed and announced on the official website of BISE Gujranwala i.e. http://bisegrw.edu.pk/. The result is directly available on this website with many other perks that are mentioned above. Students can acquire their result from the website or they are given DMC by their respective institutes. The main HO can also be approached (if wanted) that is situated at Lohianwala. You will see it while moving from Pindi bypass (also known as Lohianwala bypass or Aziz Cross) toward Sialkot bypass after 1 km. distance on right hand side of the road.
BISE Gujranwala have the authority to affiliate with the Public and Private institutions. Like other Boards BISE Gujranwala is also involved in the activities of sports, social gathering and other events. All of these are duly and highly important so as they are carried out in the same way.
