BISE Hyderabad is one of the oldest boards which was established under West Pakistan Ordinance 1961. Since its establishment, there had been a number of Ordinances/Acts for effective functioning of the Board.
Prior to establishment of the Board, the University of Sindh was responsible for conducting matriculation examination under Sindh University Act 1947. Initially, the Board was established in ‘Metharam Hostel’ near to General Post Office, Hyderabad. The Commission on National Education (1958) recommended a two-year intermediate education (Class XI-XII) after matriculation (Class X) and the Board was assigned responsibility of conducting examination at secondary and intermediate level.
Thus, the University of Sindh handed over responsibility to the Board for conducting examination of secondary and intermediate education in 1961 under the leadership of Dr G.A. Jafferi, the Founding Chairman of the Board. The Board has planned to further refurbish sports stadium and youth hostel. With considerable expansion in schools and colleges The Board constructed its sports stadium (over 8 acres) in Latifabad Unit 6, Hyderabad to provide maximum sports facilities for students.
The Board also constructed Chairperson residence to provide him/her accommodation with maximum residential facilities. The Board also constructed a youth hostel for providing accommodation for students from various education institutions across the country to participate in the annual sports activities.
BISE Hyderabad being the oldest is also the largest board of Pakistan. It covers more than 10 districts namely Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Matiari, Dadu, Tando Allahyar, Saheed Benazirabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta, Sujawal and Badin. Board is able to conduct the examination in all of these districts. The examination held are 5th, 8th, SSC and HSSC.
Surely it acts as center of excellence in school examination and assessment informed by research and innovation and integrated with technology for raising education standard in order to enable young generation to compete nationally and globally. Examinations are carried under full supervision of the board and the results are thoroughly checked and also pier checked to accurately mark the papers. BISE Hyderabad believes to conduct fair, transparent and authentic Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and other examinations for assessing student learning outcomes which are valued by higher education institutions nationally and globally.
Results are uploaded publicly on the official website of BISE Hyderabad board that is http://biseh.edu.pk/. Results can be checked on the official website or by getting the SMS service provided by the Board.
Results are usually announced after two to three months of exams. Other than examinations BISE is a complete legend in sports events and social convention. Being the oldest BISE Hyderabad is the most experienced in hosting a social or sports event. Students who have performed very well in the exams are given rewards and certificates.
Athletes in the sport events are also appreciated; many students are getting scholar ships on sport quota. These are positive steps toward progress. The administration of the board thinks about the accomplishment of national points and targets at the secondary and higher secondary dimension.
