Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE Lahore) is known to be the most earliest and well established board in Pakistan. Since the emergence of Pakistan on the map of the world, the examinations pertaining to the Matriculation and Intermediate level were conducted under the aegis of University of the Punjab.
However, through the promulgation of the Punjab University Act (Amendment) Ordinance 1954, the Board of Secondary Education, Punjab was established in the province which took from the said University control of examinations of Secondary, Intermediate and Pakistani & Classical Languages. The first-ever examination for these stages was conducted in the year 1955. From that time onwards BISE Lahore has been providing the best examinational standards in Pakistan.
At the time BISE Lahore was set up in 1954, it took the responsibility of holding and conducting examination all over Pakistan and even for overseas candidates for that purpose an office of BISE was established in Kuwait and Nairobi (Kenya). Currently BISE Lahore is confined and has hold over districts of Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib.
Every year BISE Lahore is the host of more than 2 million students for examinational purposes. It conducts exams for classes 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, ICOM, ICS, FSC, and FA. At first all the educational matters were dealt by the University of Punjab, Lahore but due to static and admirable increase in students Lahore Board was founded and it now serves Pakistan with full capability.
BISE Lahore is the oldest and the most mature organization in the matters of Education and Examination hence it has been a great helping hand for other boards in developing. The foundation of BISE Lahore is based upon this statement “To promote the cause of education through conducting examinations in an extremely fair, unbiased, transparent & judicious environment so that our educated nationals may be able to contribute meaningfully in the competitive world.”. Surely they are providing up to this so far.
Results are scheduled in accordance with the exams and are punctual. Results for HSSC and SSC are announced just after two to three months of examinations. They are displayed on the official website of BISE Lahore i.e. http://www.biselahore.com/. Students can get overview their results on this website and also they are given DMCs by their respective institutes. However, a student has the liberty of visiting the Head Office of BISE Lahore situated in Lahore and get it.
As customary for all the boards BISE Lahore also participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, social events and social movements. All the activities are surely to be fond of. Students are highly appreciated who have scored tremendous marks in exams and are awarded with monetary prizes, scholarships and laptops. The famous Punjab Laptop Scheme was started in the year 2012 by Chief Minister Punjab which gave away more than 110,000 laptops to high achieving students under BISE Lahore and many other Youth Portals were started under the supervision of BISE Lahore to facilitate students.
