BISE Sukkur, was established on 8th October 1979 under provision of the Ordinance. The Offices of the Board was firstly established in a portion of A.B.D Law College Sukkur, then shifted in the rented bungalows situated in Muslim Housing Society at Military Road Sukkur.
The Board occupied its own present premises / officers in the year 1985.
At first BISE Sukkur was managing six main regions including Jacobabad, Khairpur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Sukkur and Shikarpur. After facing increasing load of students and appearing candidates BISE Larkana was formed and Nawabshah was allotted to BISE Hyderabad.
Hence BISE Sukkur was given 5 districts to manage. BISE Sukkur is quite old and it has established firm grounding in expanding our youth’s mind and skillset.
No doubt hundreds of thousands of candidates qualify each year from BISE Sukkur. Later on all the Institutions of Daulatpur Taluka of District Nawabshah were also shifted to Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Hyderabad in the year 2002. The Board is providing examination & certification facilities to the students of the region. The first annual examination of class IX and XI were held in the year 1980, by the newly appointed inexperienced staff with limited resource and meager accommodation.
It was a huge task but only by the Grace of Allah, the almighty, both the major examinations were conducted very smoothly. The initial teething and weaning difficulties having been overcome the Board, within one year assumed its normal stature and the performance during the SSC/HSC examination 1981.
BISE Sukkur is now managing five districts for supervision and providing best standards for education plus examination. Districts that are under the umbrella of BISE Sukkur are District Sukkur, District Ghotki, District Khairpur, District Naushahro Feroze and Taluka Daulatpur of Nawabshah District.
These districts are under the command of BISE Sukkur. All educational institutes must be affiliated and recognized by the Board. BISE Sukkur holds and coordinates all Examinations identified with Primary Education, Middle Education, Intermediate Education, Secondary Education, Classical and Pakistani Languages. Examinations are carried out on the classes of 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, FA, FSC. ICOM, and ICS. Examinations are held according to the curriculum and papers are checked with full transparency and impartiality.
Results are announced on the official website of the Board that is http://www.bisesuksindh.edu.pk/. Results are announced shortly after two months. Students can easily check them on the website. Board also issue’s DMCs individually which can be acquired from respective institutes or from head office of BISE Sukkur that is located; Shikarpur Road, Makha Goth, Sukkur, Sindh 65210.
In the year 1981 the Boards hockey team participated Inter Board Hockey Championship Pakistan and Inter Board School Championship at Hyderabad. Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sukkur athletic team participated in all Pakistan Inter Board Athletic Championship at Sahiwal (Punjab) and got fifth position in 10th Boards competition.
Thereafter, the Board is constantly taking part in various games which were held at various places of Pakistan, such as Inter Collegiate Sports for Boys and Girls, Table Tennis, Badminton, Athletics and Hockey, The Boys of the Board (Hockey) took part in all Pakistan Inter Board Hockey Championship held at Sargodha in 1983 and at Sukkur their boys took part in Table Tennis competition at public school, Sukkur.
